EARL LEON BURGER

December 22, 1942 - June 09, 2017

Earl Leon Burger, of Taloga, passed from this life on June 9, 2017 in Seiling at the age of 74 years, 5 months, and 18 days. He was born on December 22, 1942 to Clyde and Nellie (Reed) Burger in Prague, OK. He grew up in the Sparks area. On June 25, 1960 he was united in marriage to Barbara Sue (Hart) Burger, a union of 47 years until her death. Later, he married Cleo Dawn (Booth) Burger on January 23, 2008. He worked as a superintendent for Mustang Fuel Corporation, and made his home first in Bethany and later Luther. In 1971, he moved to Taloga where he has remained since. In his spare time he loved hunting and fishing, and spent many hours passing on his love of the outdoors to his children and later grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Nellie Burger; his first wife Barbara; two sons, Donald Earl Burger and Scotty Burger; granddaughter Savanna; seven brothers, and four sisters.

Earl is survived by his wife Cleo of the home; three daughters, Kim Clark and husband Mike, Spencer Hedges and husband Billy, and Margo Phipps and husband David; six siblings, Lawanda Elkins, Jerri Henson and husband Gary, Ruby Sparks and husband Leon, Rosa Sturm, Debbie Pruitt and husband Reggie, and Melvin Burger; four step-children Raymon, Bruce, Rhonda, and Michelle; seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Memorial Donations in Earl’s name may be made to the Taloga Fire and Ambulance with Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236 Seiling, OK 73663) serving as custodian of the funds.
