Floy Jean Leonard passed peacefully from this world on December 31, 2016, at the age of 87.

Jean was born on July 21, 1929 in Paden, OK to James Monroe and Jennie Frances (Prevett) Gilbert. In 1949, she met, fell in love and married James Gordon Leonard. They first made their home in Meeker, OK, but then moved to Chandler, OK, where they resided for the majority of their lives. Together, they had six children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Jean devoted her life to caring for her family. Additionally, she worked alongside her husband at the laundromat and theaters they owned, and later worked at the Lincoln Motel as an assistant manager. An accomplished cook, her country style meals and desserts never failed to bring joy to those who sat at her table. Jean was an avid gardener, an skilled seamstress, and enjoyed observing nature on her daily walks. Jean attended Central Church of Christ in Chandler.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, her sister and six brothers (including her twin brother Floyd Dean), her grandson Dr.Todd Leonard, her great-grandchildren Blake Leonard and Asher Leonard, and her son-in-law Larry Mell.

Jean is survived by her children Patricia "Pat" Crouch and husband James, Donna Mell, James Michael "Mike" Leonard and his wife Rebecca, Charles "Chuck" Leonard and his wife Lise, Mary Leonard, Darrell Leonard and his husband Edward, her grandchildren Dr. Gretchen Crouch Matthews and husband Matt, Dr. Jason Crouch and wife Robin, Aaron Mell and wife Michelle, Tim Mell, Dr. Kim Leonard, Michelle Leonard Ellis and husband Parker, Erik Leonard and great-grandchildren Max, Mason, Tatum, Chloe, Wyatt, Melanie, Ryann and Riley along with nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to name.

Graveside services will be held at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma on January 3, 2017, at 2:00 pm.
