Louis Nathanial Dale was born November 18, 1927 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to Thomas and Sadye (Killian) Dale. He passed away September 2, 2019 in Shawnee at the age of 91.

Louis married the love of his life, Velma Louise (George) on December 23, 1945 and they shared 73 years together. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired captain with the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Sadye Dale; brothers, Boyce Dale, Bill Dale, Jack Dale; and sister, Oletha (Dale) Graham.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Velma Louise of the home; daughters, Teresa Schmidt, Vickie Foulks and her husband Roger, Debbie Dale, Natalie Ussrey and her husband Tony; 1 grandson, Derik Ussrey and his wife Debbie; 7 granddaughters, Angela Kelley and her husband Mark, Christon Cummings and her husband Rafe, April Stanley and her husband Derek, Elizabeth Boulanger and her husband Micah, Jessica Dooley and her husband Clayton, Desiree’ McAlpin and her husband Terrick, Ashlyn Goswick and her husband Wesley; 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Dale along with many other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Assembly of God Church in Chandler with interment following in the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
