Mary Ellen Austin was born on October 7, 1947 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Virgil William and Mary Ina (Palmer) Miller. She passed away at her home in Chandler on February 19, 2018 at the age of 70. Mary graduated from Chandler High School with the class of 1965 and married Gary Austin in 1966. She loved being a teacher and truly had a passion for children.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mary Miller; husband, Gary Austin, her brothers, James Miller and William Miller and sister, Kay Hamon. Survivors include her children, Gary Austin and his wife Annette of Kingfisher, daughter, Paula Austin of Chandler; brothers, George Miller and his wife Sharon of Wellston, Delmer Miller and his wife, Martha of Chandler, Doyle Miller and his wife Linda of Chandler, Wayne Miller and his wife Terri of Chandler, Charles Miller and his wife Mary Jo of Chandler; (6) grandchildren, Derrick Austin, Chelsea Monholland, Jared Austin, Frazier Monholland, Larissa Stallcup, Brandon Austin; (7) great-grandchildren along with other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow at the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
