Julia Laverne Hanson

Julia Laverne Hanson, was born on November 22, 1932, in Meeker, Oklahoma and departed this life on December 18, 2018 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Julia was the daughter of Herschel and Grace (Wakolee) Wallace. She was a long time resident of Meeker and was a member of the Sac and Fox Nation. Julia married, Wayne Hanson, and the two of them had one daughter, Sonja Hanson. Julia worked for the Environmental Agency of the Indian Health Service.

Julia was a dedicated mother and grandmother. You could often find her outside when the days were warm and sunny. She enjoyed spending time in nature, taking walks and exercising. Julia was a devout Christian. She was always working on strengthening her relationship with her Lord and Savior. She was very involved in her church and to her bible study. She enjoyed taking care of others. She took great joy in taking care of her daughter and grandchildren. While living in the nursing home, Julia welcomed the new guests and helped them to get settled into their new homes.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne Hanson; grandson, Isaiah Thorpe; granddaughter; Leah Hanson; two brothers, Leroy Wallace and Harold Wallace and two sisters, Norma Pipkin and Minnie Morris.

Julia is survived by her daughter, Sonja Hanson; grandchildren, Joshua Albert, Matthew Hanson and Raven Hanson; brothers, Charles Wallace and Carl Wallace; sisters, Wanda Brown, Carol Holmes, Linda Morris, Earnestine Pettit, Kay Rhoades and Barbara Hawkins-Ramos and a host of family and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday December 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM, at the New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma.

The family will accept friends and family at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Meeker.
