James "Jim" Leroy Bratcher

December 27, 1937 - January 21, 2018

James "Jim" Leroy Bratcher, age 80, of Meeker, died Sunday January 21, 2018 in his home of natural causes.

Mr. Bratcher is survived by his three children: James L. Bratcher Jr. (wife, Donna), Ruby R. Edgar (husband, David) and Sanddee Bratcher (husband, Andy). He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: James L. Bratcher III (wife, Jessica) Robby (wife, Ashley), Terry (wife, Megan), Tara, Marcus, Morgan and Becca and one great grandson Tyler. Jim grew up in nearby town Tecumseh, with 5 siblings, Merle (deceased), Geraldine, Ted, Judy, Billy and parents, James L. Bratcher and Louise Watson Bratcher.

Following graduation Jim joined the Army and dedicated 20 years to serving his country. Jim is a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his service to our country, Jim earned many medals of honor; Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, 4 Purple Heart, Silver Star, 2 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct & Gallantry Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and a Vietnam Civil Action Unit Medal. Jim served with honor, bravery, valor and took immense pride in serving his country. Following his military service Jim embarked on a second career with Mobile Oil Company in Shawnee where he retired after fifteen years of dedicated service.

Please join family and friends Saturday at 12pm on February 3, 2018 at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker to honor the life of James “Jim” Leroy Bratcher.
