JANE ELLEN WOOD
1920 - 2014


Jane Ellen Newcomer Wood, Carney, Oklahoma, resident was born on November 22, 1920, in Choctaw, Oklahoma, and departed this life on December 20, 2014, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years.
Jane was the daughter of Theodore and Edith Varvil Newcomer.
She married Leighton Wood on March 31, 1938.
Jane was member of the First Baptist Church of Carney, Oklahoma.
Her parents, husband, one son, Cody Wood; one grandson, Charles Wood; one great-grandson, Theodore Wood; one sister, Deloris Goldie; one brother, Jay Newcomer; and three sons-in-law, Matt Holmes, John Wall and Bob Richardson preceded Jane in death.
Survivors include her six sons and daughters-in-laws, Theodore and Nellie Wood of Chandler; Willie Wood of Springville, California; Ronnie Wood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Larry Wood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jim and Carlotta Wood of Edmond, Oklahoma; J. D. and Linda Wood of Perkins, Oklahoma; five daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine Trotter of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Linda Richardson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Becky Wall of Newalla, Oklahoma; Frances Holmes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Vickie and Al Simmons of Mulhall, Oklahoma; twenty three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, Oklahoma, with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
