DAVID PAUL WINKLER
1942 - 2010


David Paul Winkler was born at home in McLoud September 10, 1942 and died at his home in Lansing, Michigan, on February 11, 2010.
He earned his Masters degree at Michigan State University and was currently employed as a valued electrical engineer at GMC plant in Lansing for more than 40 years.
He was an Army veteran.
He was a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Thomas Winkler and Mary Margaret Mitchell Winkler; and brother Don Harold Winkler, all of McLoud, Oklahoma.
He is survived by two sisters and one brother in law, Judy Silva of Shawnee; and Martin and Beth Thomas of Emporia, Kansas; his three daughters, Stacylayne Winkler of Lansing, Michiga;, Hollyanne Gandy of Hertford, North Carolina; and Julie Jessen of Lansing, Michigan; three sons, Robert Paul Winkler and David Mitchell Winkler of Adelphi, Maryland; and William Simpson Winkler currently of Tokyo, Japan; and fifteen grandchildren as well as a multitude of extended family and friends.
David was a tireless worker and avid reader. He was noted for his quick wit and sense of humor as well as his kind and generous nature.
An open memorial service will be held at Forest Cemetery in Lincoln County, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23.
Forest Cemetery is located on the SW corner of 0980 and 3420 Rd., seven miles south of Chandler and west of Highway 18.
