HERBERT RAY WILSON
1943 - 2011


Herbert Ray Wilson, age 67, died at Heritage Manor Nursing home in Oklahoma City on January 2, 2011. Herbert was born on July 11, 1943 in Carney, Oklahoma where he spent most of his life around Carney until illness forced him into a nursing home.
He worked with his father Woodrow and brothers, Leon, Lorn and Donnie. He operated a backhoe, was a volunteer firefighter, a construction worker, golf course worker, cemetery caretaker and worked for the City of Carney water and sanitation department.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Mozell Wilson, and two brothers, Leon and Lorn Wilson. He is survived by his children, Loretta Wells, Angela Wilson, Larry Wilson, Sr., David Hunt; nine grandchildren, Laura Katheryn Wells, Josh Wells, Alicia Hester, Jared Wilson, Larry Wilson Jr., and Hank Wilson, Chris Hunt, Brittney Hunt, Zayne Hunt; two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Imogene; one brother, Donnie Wilson, Carney, Oklahoma and three sisters, Melba Sliger, Martin, Tennessee, Lois Cochran, Burlington, Kansas and Carolyn Craven, Carney, Oklahoma.
The family wanted to thank the residents and staff of Heritage Manor Nursing home for the friendship and excellent care Herbert received.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 6, 2011 at the Carney Cemetery under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home, Wellston.
