HAZEL McBRIDE WILBANKS
1932 - 2010


Hazel Ivy McBride Wilbanks, a longtime Davenport resident, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010 at her home at the age of 78 years.
The daughter of the late Homer and Clara Ivy, Hazel was born on February 22, 1932 in Sarah, Mississippi and was reared and educated there.
She was united in marriage to J. T. Wilbanks on July 21, 1951.
In 1957 they moved to Fox River Grove, Illinois and Hazel opened the Cary Restaurant in Cary, Illinois. In 1971 she and J.T. moved to Branson, Missouri when the purchased the Hiawatha Resort, which they owned and operated until 1979 when they retired and moved to Davenport, Oklahoma.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Wilbanks, one son, Martin Lee Wilbanks, two sisters, Rosalee Spencer and Helen Hisaw and one brother, R.T. Ivy.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Hope Myhan and her husband, T. J. of Stroud, Oklahoma; two sisters, Bernice Dalton of Mt. Grove, Missouri and Ada Mae Rowland of Coldwater, Mississippi; one granddaughter, Nicole Wilbanks and her husband Martin Ward of Stroud, Oklahoma and one great-grandson, Brodie Wilbanks of Stroud, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma.
