DEE EFFIE WHITE
1923 - 2013


Dee Effie Jones White, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the Hillcrest Medical Center-Cushing at the age of 89 years.
The daughter of the late Willie Jones and Dovie Favors Jones, Dee was born on August 15, 1923 in Atoka, Oklahoma.
She was reared and educated in Atoka, graduating from Atoka High School.
Dee lived in Anaheim, California for several years before moving to Cushing in 1983.
In her spare time Dee loved to sew, garden, and cook. Her family especially loved her pies. She also loved traveling with her family to Palm Springs and the Apple Valley but her favorite times were spending time with her grandchildren.
Dee will be remembered as a woman that was always willing to help someone and as a person that always had a smile on her face.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Eifler and her husband Joe of Lane, Oklahoma; Eddie Hopkins of Oklahoma; Sandy Southham and her husband Bill of Anaheim, California; and Cathy Wooldridge and her husband Bob of Cushing; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her husband, John White; one son, Johnny Junior White; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, Oklahoma with Mr. Kyle Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in the Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
