VIDA ANN WASINGER
1943 - 2016


Vida Ann Pritchard Wasinger was born on February 8, 1943, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2016, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 73.
Vida, the daughter of Lowell and Elsie Graham Pritchard, was a resident of Meeker.
She married Alfred Wasinger on April 21, 1967 at the Chapel at Tinker Air Force Base.
Vida graduated high school at Mountain View High School with the class of 1961, she went on to Southwestern where she earned her degree. Vida was passionate about her work in child development at Easter Seals, among other things she was instrumental in the creation of their Autism Program.
She loved watching her granddaughters play softball, and didn’t mind yelling at the umpires at their games. She enjoyed playing in Texas Holdem Tournaments.
Vida loved to travel with her family, particularly trips to Eureka Springs and The Great Passion Play that she attended many times, she also enjoyed trips to Branson, but she would gladly go anywhere the road lead her.
She will always be remembered for being a very giving person and always being there to lend a helping hand.
Vida's parents, three brothers, Charley Pritchard, Ronald Pritchard and Don Pritchard preceded her in death.
Vida is survived by her husband, Alfred Wasinger of the home, sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Dedra Wasinger of Del City, Michael and Amy Wasinger of Tuttle, six grandchildren, Kimberly, Rachel, Emily, Miranda, Melissa and Jamie, two brothers, Herman Pritchard of Edmond and Robert "Butch" Pritchard of Bristow and many other family and friends.
Rosary will be Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian burial from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 217 S. Koonce, Meeker, Oklahoma. Interment will be Friday, September 9, 2016 at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma at 11:00 a.m.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, Oklahoma.
