JIMMY WARD
1932 - 2010


Jimmy Ward, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on July 13, 1932, in Chandler, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at his home in Chandler Surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78 years.
Jimmy, the son of Claude and Ollie Saulsberry Ward, was a long-time resident of Chandler.
He married Beatrice Hopkins on October 19, 1952 in Davenport, Oklahoma.
Jimmy served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean conflict. He also served in Headquarters Battery, 160th Field Artillery, 45th Infantry Division. Jimmy worked in the oilfields for many years.
He attended Horton Chapel Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the local VFW.
His parents and two sisters, Emmaline Ward and Doris Steele, preceded Jimmy in death.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Beatrice of the home, son, James Ward of Stroud, Oklahoma, daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Kenneth Bailey of Texarkana, Texas, Marsha and Rodney Smith of Carney, Oklahoma, Vanessa and Dwight Foster of Springdale, Arkansas, brother, Claude Ward of Inola, Oklahoma, sisters, June Shreffler and Billie Schmidt, both of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, with Dwain Young officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
