ADRIAN ORELL WARD
1923 - 2005


Adrian Orell Ward, 82, of Meeker, Oklahoma departed this life on December 29, 2005, in Meeker.
He was born on September 29, 1923, In Mudsand Choctaw County, Oklahoma to Elston N. and Viola G. McPherson Ward, both of whom preceded him in death.
Adrian spent his early years on a farm located northeast of Meeker, and attended school at Payson. He later attended Meeker High School where he graduated with the class of 1942.
Adrian married Leota Wilkerson on November 16, 1946, in Eureka, Kansas.
He served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict before being discharged from the Air Force in 1953. Following his military service, he continued in the field of aviation working in aircraft maintenance at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in 1979.
He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved to fish, hunt deer, and golf with family and friends. He was a 32nd degree Mason and also a long-time member of the American Legion and the First Christian Church of Meeker.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Leota Wilkerson Ward of the home; son, Alvin Ward of Meeker; daughter, Angela Marsh of Shawnee; granddaughter, Andrea Marsh; great-grandson, Skylar Jace Kaminski; brother and his family, Darrell and Eva Ward and their son Gregory, all of Norman.
Viewing and visitation will be at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker on Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
