MARY WAYNE WALLACE
1938 - 2016


Mary Wayne Wilson Wallace was born in Wellston January 28, 1938 to Charles “Haskell” Wilson, Sr. and Naomi Bradshaw. She passed away April 2, 2016 in Oklahoma City at the age of 78.
Mary Wayne grew up in Wellston where she graduated from Wellston High School in 1956.
She married William Newton Wallace July 18, 1959 and together they raised three children.
She retired from the State of Oklahoma following 39 years of service.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star and long-time dedicated Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Wellston.
She enjoyed playing pitch and dominoes with the Wellston Senior Citizens and never missed her children and grandchildren’s sports events.
Mary Wayne was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, William Newton Wallace; son, William Bryan “Buster” Wallace; daughter, Karen Jean Trammell and sisters, Beatrice Koopmann and Rosetta Allore.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Wayne Wallace; son-in-law, Jay Trammel; five grandchildren, Ashlynn Grace and Hailey Nichole Wallace, Jayson William, Jeremy Roy and Jerrica Naomi Trammel; great-granddaughter, Ashlee Raye Trammel; siblings, Charles Wilson, Jr., Bernadine Schofield and Cheryl Hasty; many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends who will miss her infectious smile.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with interments following at the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
