LEROY W. WALLACE OBITUARY

LEROY W. WALLACE
1931 - 2006


Mesquite, Texas resident Leroy W. Wallace, 75, died Wednesday, November 8, in Mesquite.
He was born April 3, 1931, in Meeker to Herchell and Grace Wakolee Wallace.
He attended Meeker High School and married Delores Bookie Murdock. She preceded him in death.
He later married Clara Davis.
Leroy served in the U. S. Air Force and retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He also worked as a prison guard in McAlester and was an auctioneer and antique dealer.
He was a member of the VFW of Shawnee and enjoyed raising pet poodles and ferrets.
He also enjoyed reading history, writing and playing the guitar.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Michael Wallace; sister, Norma Pipkin; and an infant brother.
Survivors include wife, Clara Wallace, of Mesquite; three children, Cheryl Wallace, Deborah Wachter, both of Shawnee; and Michelle Montgomery of Shawnee; eight sisters, Julia Hanson of Meeker; Minnie Morris of Moore; Ernestine Petitt of Henderson, Nevada; Wanda Brown of Tuttle; Carol Holmes of Shawnee; Barbara Ramos of Yuma, Arizona; Linda Morris of Moscow, Idaho; and Kay Rhoads of Shawnee; three brothers, Charles Wallace of Kendrick, Oklahoma; Harold Wallace and Carl Wallace, both of Meeker; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
A dinner for family and friends will be held after the burial at the Sac and Fox Multi-Purpose Center, 215 N. Harrison, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee.
