ORVILLE JAMES WALKER
1928 - 2011


Lifelong Chandler area resident Orville James Walker died Monday in Stroud. He was 88.

He was born in Chandler on March 27, 1910, the son of John T. and Martha {Reddell} Walker.

He had lived in the Chandler area all his life and had worked in the Oklahoma oil fields as a driller. He was a member of Midlothian Baptist Church.

He married Elizabeth Robbins on February 26, 1936, and they had two daughters.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a grandson, two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, of the home; daughters, Patricia Ann Bell, Gage; Pat Soderstrom, Chandler; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Morgan Walker, Russ, Texas; John Walker, Oklahoma City; sister, Geneva Melson, Chandler, and many other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler, with the Rev. Thom Chappelle officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
