LILLIAN VANDALEE NEALE VAUGHAN
1929 - 2015

Lillian Vandalee Neale Vaughan went home to be with her Lord on Thursday morning, June 11, 2015.
She was born on June 7, 1929, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Hugh Edward and Lillian Rosalee Neale as the next to youngest of five children.
It was in Seminole during the summer of 1946 that she met the love of her life, Troy Vaughan, who had just returned home from military service. They married on February 20, 1947, and began a hand-in-hand journey that lasted 60 years.
She and Troy accepted Christ in a revival service in Prague, Oklahoma, and he felt a call to preach. From that time on, she supported him as a partner in ministry through three pastorates in Lufkin, Texas, and Oklahoma City.
When he moved his family to the May Avenue Nazarene Church in 1964, they ministered as laymen and became a strong example of commitment to God, family and others.
Mother delighted in the stewardship of her home and had the gift of hospitality. She thoroughly enjoyed having evangelists, friends and angels unaware in her home for meals.
As a young pastor's wife, she hosted couples from the nearby Methodist College in their home. She loved family gatherings and preparing her famous chicken and noodles.
She created the tradition of Saturday night hamburgers and RC Cola and was sometimes known to have prepared the last hamburger for someone else.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy; her parents, Hugh and Lillian Neale; two sisters, Dorothy Gilbert and Mary Jane Brown; and three brothers, Robert Neale {infant}, George Neale and Alvin Neale.
She is survived by daughters, Myra Evans of the home; Mary Keesee of Bethany; Opal Snively and husband Tim of Noble; and Linda Vaughan, of the home; son, John Vaughan of Oklahoma City; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2015, at the Southern Hills Baptist Church with burial following at the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Oklahoma.
