JOYCE FERN TRIPP
1926 - 2014


Joyce Fern Morgan Tripp was born April 10, 1926 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Jack Morgan and Gladys Lester.
She passed away August 18, 2014 in Chandler, Oklahoma at the age of 88.
Joyce was raised in Grady, Oklahoma by her Aunt Jesse and Uncle Joe with their three children, Anna Jo, Johnny and Dale.
She worked at the Air Force Base in Ardmore, Oklahoma out of High School during World War II.
She married Raymond Lee Tripp upon his return from World War II on March 29, 1946.
Together they owned and operated the A1 Café in Warr Acres for 17 years. They retired to Antioch, Oklahoma on their 60 acre dream farm. In 1994 they moved to Wellston to be close to their daughters.
Joyce was active with the Missionary Baptist Church, Midlothian and the Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Gladys Morgan; her husband of 51 years, Raymond Lee Tripp; and brother, Weldon Morgan.
Survivors include her identical twin sister, Loyce Faye Mathews of Edgewood, Washington; daughters, Sandra and her husband David Grady of Wellston; Sharon and her husband Jerry Ellison of York, NE; Sylvia and her husband Gerald Janes of Wellston; Stephanie Brakebill and her friend Tracy Workman of Blanchard; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 22, 2014 in the Grady Cemetery in Grady, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
