He attended Cushing Public Schools during grade school and junior high.
Wayne moved with his family east of Agra when his parents purchased a dairy farm in 1949.

On April 24, 1955 he was united in marriage to Alfreda Louise Byers at 301 East Second Street, Cushing, Oklahoma by the late Cecil Dobbs of Hobart, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with four children, three sons, Darrell Wayne, Randall Lee and Bruce Lynn; and one daughter, Becky Lou.
Wayne served in the U.S. Army 1956-1958. When he returned they built a new home just north of Agra. He continued helping his parents with the dairy and farming.

During this time their fourth child arrived, their daughter in 1966. He worked in Chandler nearly ten years.
In February of 1973 Mr. Lloyd Escott was needing a market manager and had heard Wayne had bought a house in Cushing. Mr. Escott called Wayne, offering him the job, Wayne accepted and was the Meat Market Manager at Escott’s until he retired in June 1997. While working for Escott’s he trained many new employees to be butchers.
After his retirement he spent a lot of time with his family and grandchildren always interested and ready to help in whatever they were involved in.
