GLADYS CHRISTINA TIBBETT LOWE
1909 - 2006


Gladys Christina Hermann Tibbett Lowe, the daughter of Otto and Carrie Odessa Marmaduke Herrmann, was born on March 23, 1909 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. She died on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at her home in Cushing.
She grew up in Lincoln County and attended Parkland schools.
Gladys married Robert N. Tibbett in 1926, they lived in Cushing until he passed away in 1968. Gladys then married Earl Lowe in 1973 and lived in Hobart for seven years. She moved back to Cushing in 1980 after the passing of her husband Earl.
She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
Gladys enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and was very proud that she had delivered four generations of babies. She was the Matriarch of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sister Dolly Jacob and Pearl Herrman; brother Walter Herrmann; twin brothers Raymond and Ray Herrmann; and one grandchild Darrell Tibbett.
She is survived by her son, Wayne and wife Alfreda Tibbett of Cushing; daughter Ethel Rodgers and Kenneth of Cushing; sisters Goldie Owsley of Visalia, California; Myrtle Knott of Oklahoma City; and Bertha Mitchell of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Becky Castor and husband Randy; Randall Tibbett and wife Diane; Bruce Tibbett and wife Nikki; Pamela Hughey and husband Larry; Mark Rodgers and wife Anita; twenty great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 11, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Firstborn, 1301 East Ash, Cushing. Brother Jerry Dowe Pruitt, Brother Alvie Herrmann and Brother Norman Retherford will be officiating.
Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
