Sarah Marie Hickman Sutherland, age 33 of Cushing, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016.

Sarah was born on March 26, 1983 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Brian Hickman and Jo Ann Whitehair.

She grew up in Cushing and moved to Agra when she was a freshman, graduating from Agra High School in 2001.

Sarah married Denver Sutherland on May 28, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Cushing. They made their home in Perkins.

She loved taking care of her children, Breanna and Caden. Breanna remembers how her mom loved to read to her and eat her chocolate. It was her favorite food. Sarah let them open two presents before Christmas. Sarah liked to watch Breanna play soccer, watch Big Brother and Sponge Bob with her. Caden remembers how his mom liked to swim at the water park with him, fix his favorite food- tacos, watching him play baseball, basketball and flag football. She also enjoyed taking them to McDonald’s and playing Mario Cart.

Sarah enjoyed watching TV, playing cards, playing video games, and visiting garage sales.

She is survived by her husband, Denver of the home, son, Caden Sutherland of the home, daughter, Breanna Sutherland of the home, step-daughter, Mackenzie Paige Vaughan of Agra, brother, Jason Hickman and wife Donna of Silver City, step brothers, John Green of Meeker and Alvin Hickman of Perkins, step-sisters, Jennifer Green of Prague and Jessie Collier of Shawnee, brother, Pat Nedder and wife Becky of Illinois, step-mother, Martha Hickman, step-dad, Gary Green of Meeker, parents in law, J.D. and Lavona Smith of Cushing and Rob and Paula Sutherland of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her father Brian Hickman and mother Joanne Green.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Cushing, Oklahoma.
