EDGAR MAJOR STEELE
1903 - 2000


Edgar Major Steele, 97, died Sunday, December 17, in Chandler.
He was born on September 7, 1903, in Brownwood, Texas, the son of John A. and Melvina M. Callison Steele.
He lived in the Chandler area for several years after moving from Agra.
On May 1, 1926, he married Lulu Ellion Hughes in Oklahoma City.
Steele worked as an auto mechanic.
Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, one daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include sons, John C. Steele of Texarkana, Texas and Lorin Steele of Harrah, daughter, Edwina Steele of Chandler, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Chandler's Oak Park Cemetery. The Rev. Hugh Willoby will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.
