ELVIS C. SPOON
1919 - 1997


Meeker resident Elvis C. Spoon died Thursday in Meeker at the age of 78.
He was born February 25, 1919, in Cedar Glades, Arkansas, to Charlie Spoon and Betsy Thornton Spoon.
He was a resident of the Prague and Meeker area most his life.
He married Gladys Harper on October 15, 1938, in Chandler.
Mr. Spoon had served overseas during World War II and was a retired supervisor from Tinker Air Force Base. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Spoon, of the home in Meeker; one son, Charles Spoon of Davenport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Larry Reed and Darla and Mike Coy, all of Meeker; one brother, Joseph Spoon of Grants Pass, Oregon; one sister, Mary Lou Wilson of Arkansas; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held until noon on Monday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Meeker.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Living Waters Tabernacle in Meeker with the Rev. Donna Morton officiating.
Burial will be at Rossville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
