VERA MAE SMITH
1938 - 1997


Vera Mae Clark Smith died Saturday in Stroud at the age of 59.
She was born June 3, 1938, in Pawnee, the daughter of Earnest and Eunice Gokey Clark.
She had lived in Stroud all her life and was a homemaker.
She married Billy Newton Smith in Cushing on January 25, 1954. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Smith and Randy Smith, both of Stroud; and Johnny Smith, Tulsa; three daughters, Phyllis Bigby and Billie Kay Seward, both of Stroud; and Penny Seward, Davenport; brothers, Kenneth, Carman, and Harold Clark, all of Stroud; Richard Clark, Davenport; sisters, Glenda Hodge, Cushing; Dortha Skow and Mary Eldredge, both of Stroud; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one brother.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sac and Fox Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Morris officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.
