GARY DEAN SMITH
1950 - 2015


Gary Dean Smith was born on Monday, July 31, 1950, in Prague, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 64.
Gary, the son of Tommie Edward and Joyce Violet Hruska Smith, was a life-long resident of Prague.
He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1968 and earned an Associate degree in Ranch Management at Eastern State College.
He married Sue Duncan on July 17, 1970.
He retired from Wolverine Tube in 2012.
He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He kept an immaculate yard.
He enjoyed working with his cattle and chickens. Gary calf roped and team roped for many years and loved a good horse.
His parents, grandparents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and one brother-in-law preceded Gary in death.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sue Smith of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Beau” and Amber Smith of Prague, daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Jimmy Butler of Prague, grandchildren, Ty Butler of Ada, Heath Butler of Prague and Jaxi and Jhett Smith of Prague, brother-in-law, Keith Duncan and his wife, Phyllis, of Chandler, sisters-in-law, Mary Johnson and her husband, Joseph, of Midwest City and Donna Mayfield of Paden as well as other numerous family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Prague with Rev. David Hand officiating.
Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
