ALLEN EDWARD SHERMAN
1922 - 2010


Allen Edward Sherman was born on June 3, 1922, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, August 20, 2010, at his home in Chandler at the age of 88 years.
Allen, the son of Aden and Rebecca May Butler Sherman, was a life-long Chandler resident.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Allen married Coralie Kirkpatrick on June 30, 1949 in Chandler.
He owned and operated Sherman Oil and Gas Company for many years.
Allen was a long-time member of the Chandler Southern Baptist Church, Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Laverna Sherman of Chandler, Oklahoma and Bobby and Angie Sherman of Chandler, Oklahoma, three daughters and son-in-laws, Shirley and Gerald Best of Chandler, Oklahoma, Mary Ann Moore of Chandler, Oklahoma and Betty Jo Sprague of Chandler, Oklahoma, one sister, Barbara Sherman Foster of Pottsboro, Texas, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a..m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Rev. Bruce Newby officiating.
Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
