CHARLES LEO SCHOENECKE
1927 - 2015


Charles Leo Schoenecke, McLoud, Oklahoma, age 88, was born on April 11, 1927, in Sparks, Oklahoma. He was the son of Fred L. and Sadie Bierman Schoenecke. He left this life on Monday, May 18, 2015, in McLoud, Oklahoma.
Charles graduated from Sparks High School in 1945.
He proudly served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He married Ruth E. Ward on October 10, 1959, in Oklahoma City. Charles was a postal carrier in Oklahoma City for 20 years and rural route 1 in Harrah for 7 years.
He was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church, McLoud, Oklahoma, the Kickapoo Good Sam Club, Shawnee, Oklahoma, NARFE 1621 and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association.
He grew up on a farm and enjoyed raising cattle and calves. Charles and Ruth loved traveling all over the U.S. in their pickup and fifth wheel travel trailer. He loved tractor work, working with the church and helping others.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, John, Roy, Floyd and Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Schoenecke of McLoud, Oklahoma, three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles "Timothy" and PJ Schoenecke of Monroe, Washington, Kelvin and Teresa Schoenecke of Harrah, Oklahoma, Marvin and Elisabeth Schoenecke of Point Lookout, Missouri, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Brenden of Ellensburg, Washinton, Charlotte and Scott Durkee of Wichita, Kansas, fourteen grandchildren, Kandice Taylor and Travis, Seth Schoenecke and Ariel, Kayla Johnston and Aaron, Joshua Durkee, Caleb Durkee, Hannah Durkee, Levi Durkee, Daniel Schoenecke, Andrew Schoenecke, Jessica Schoenecke, Stephanie Bala and Chad, Chris Hensley and Mike, Diane Ignacio and Lindsay Schoenecke; twelve great-grandchildren, Grace, Lillian, Reid, Derynn, Cade, Olin, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Everhet, Maya and Emma and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the McLoud Nursing Center, Heartland Hospice and Jim Carver.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, Oklahoma.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2015, at Hillside Baptist Church, McLoud, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at White Dove Cemetery, Sparks, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
