Emily Helen Zanck Schluge, 90, a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma for 16 years, died peacefully at her home on August 13, 2016.

Emily was born May 22, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Bernard and Viola Zanck.

She was proud of her Polish heritage and attended St. Hedwig Catholic School.

Emily was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II.

She married Leon Schluge in Chicago in 1948. They moved to Indianapolis in 1951 and later became a charter member of St. Simon Catholic Parish.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, daughter, Priscilla, parents and three brother’s Leonard, Chester and George.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter, Phillip and Kathy Schluge, Leon and Adele Schluge and Daniel and Susan Schluge all of Indianapolis Indiana and Monica and Gary Babinec of Stroud Oklahoma. She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers; Edward and Bernard and two sisters, Loretta Swieca and Rita Zanck.

Family will receive guests at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud, Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm.

Rosary service for will be held at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Stroud, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Mass will follow at 2:00 pm.
