ABRAHAM HUGH RUST
1933 - 2010


Abraham Hugh “Rusty” Rust was born April 24, 1933 in Oquawka, Illinois to Raymond Hugh and Della Mae Rust.
He passed away September 16, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Rusty served his country proudly in the Army fighting in the Korean War from 1949-1955. He was wounded and received a purple heart and was medically discharged.
He married Rosemarie Rust June 9, 1981.
His hobbies included horseback riding and hunting.
For many years he drove a truck across America and worked as a mechanic. Rusty could fix nearly any vehicle he worked on.
While in Show Low Arizona, Nava Jo County, he served as a deputy sheriff. He later served for 2 ˝ years as a reserve police officer for the Wellston Police Department.
Rusty is preceded in death by his son Brian in 2000 and daughter Denise in 2008.
He is survived by his wife Rosemarie of the home; sons Richard Rust of Ohio; Martin Rust and wife Marilyn of Hawaii; David Rust of Ohio; and John Rust and Cindy of Wellston; step-sons Allen Hagar and wife Cindy of Wellston; Drew Hagar and wife Nancy of Prague; and Dana Hagar and Karen of Wellston; grandchildren Lisa, Walter, Jennifer, Nicholes, Brandon, Paul, Amy, Dylan, Laurie, Aaron, Alec, Chelsea and Harley; great grandchildren Kyra, Christopher, Olivia and Zac.
Visitation scheduled for Sunday, September 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday, September 20 from 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.
Burial in Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
