PAUL EDGAR RODMAN
1930 - 2008


Paul Edgar Rodman, a longtime Tryon area resident, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 78 years.
The son of the late Elmer Rodman and Aynora Collins Rodman, Paul was born on May 27, 1930 in Tryon, Oklahoma where he was reared and educated.
He was united in marriage to Phyllis Tomlinson on August 26, 1956 in the Christian Union Church in Tryon.
The Rodmans moved to Clovis, New Mexico where Paul worked as an auctioneer. The couple moved back to Tryon in 1978 where he ran several sale barns around the state.
Paul enjoyed riding, raising, and selling horses as well as raising and selling cattle.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home; two daughters, Peggy Lovett and her husband Tim of Hurst, Texas; and Pamela Blakely and her husband David of Forney, Texas; one son, Paul David Rodman and his wife Susan of Perkins; one brother, Harold Rodman of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Joyce Markham of Napa, California; eight grandchildren, John Lovett and his wife Danielle; Katy Taylor and her husband Thomas; Lindsey Rodman, Lane Rodman, Trey Rodman, Sierra Blakely, Lauren Blakely and Chase Blakely; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 in the Tryon Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma.
Following this graveside service a memorial service celebrating Paul's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Tryon.
Friends and family may view Paul at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home in Stillwater {5106 North Washington} beginning Friday evening.
