TROY MATTHEW ROBISON
1917-2013
Troy Matthew Robison, passed away on Sunday evening at the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 96.
Troy was born on March 4, 1917 near Gainesville, Missouri to the late Ed Brass and Hattie Lois {Smith} Robison.
He attended school at Council Valley and Ripley High School.
Troy associated with his parents in farming and dairy mostly in Payne County until he volunteered in 1942 during World War II. He was trained by the Marines then the Navy. They served in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Some time at Newfoundland and more time in the Phillipines Islands. He received his honorable discharge in 1945 and returned to the Schlegel vicinity and his parent’s home.
On September 29, 1946, he and Leola Franks were married in Stillwater.
He worked at the Foresee Chevrolet Co. as a Paint and Body Technician for 32 years.
Troy was a member of the Park Place Baptist Church where he thoroughly enjoyed the Senior Men’s Sunday School class. He had served his church in various positions. Troy had many hobbies and interests. For several years he had led the singing at Calvary Baptist Church, Schlegel while his daughter, Natha played the piano.
Troy and Leola’s two children are Darrel and wife Sandy of Cushing; Natha and husband Kenneth Page, Ardmore; their five grandchildren are Steve Cunningham and wife Paulette; Clayton Robison and wife Cara; Amber Robison Dearman and husband Todd; Kendra Page Groves and husband Micah; Elizabeth Page Hickenbottom and husband Kendel; their ten great grandchildren are Kate, Emma, Lillie, Alyssa, Keenan, Sophie, Sadie, Kale, Trace and Cambria; sister Agnes {Mrs. Dick} Baker; nieces and nephews Janet Sue Emmons, Scott, Nancy Emmons Allen, Harvey Baker, Ronnie Robison, Mike Robison and Rick Robison; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Le Roy and Carl; three sisters Luetta, Pearlie Mae and Ada Robison Emmons.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Park Place Baptist Church, Cushing.
Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112.
