MARY MAE REYNOLDS
1924 - 2014


Mary Mae Sala Reynolds was born on May 20, 1924, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 89.
Mary, the daughter of Ernest and Agnes Chadraba Sala, was a long time resident of Prague.
She married Ray Reynolds on June 30, 1952, in Belton, Texas. They were married for 58 years until Ray’s death in 2011.
Mary was born on the homestead where she lived. She attended Arlington School and graduated from Prague High School in 1943.
Mary and her brother, Jim Sala, owned and operated the Busy Bee Cafe in Prague from 1944 to 1946.
Mary and Murrel Pantlik owned and operated the City Cafe in Prague from 1947 to 1950.
Mary and Ray lived in Europe from 1954 to 1960 while Ray served in the United States Army.
Throughout the years, she was also involved in farming and ranching on the Sala and Reynolds homestead.
Her husband, parents, and two brothers, William Edward and Jim Clarence Sala, preceded Mary in death.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest A. and Connie Reynolds of Prague and Robert G. and Patti Reynolds of Prague; daughters and son-in-law, Schatzi A. Baker of Meeker, Debbie Reynolds and Stuart Dunlap of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Billie Jo Tanner of Shawnee; brothers, George Franklin Sala of Prague and Billy Jack “Bill” Sala of Prague; brother-in-law, Merle Reynolds of Prague; grandchildren, Stephanie Goodman and husband, Mike, of Chandler, Shelly Green and husband, Will, of Yukon, Scott Reynolds and wife, Stacey, of Meeker, Sara Ross and husband, Chase, of Prague, Sally Ingro and husband, Richard, of Meeker, Schatzi Hedge and husband, Mike, of Meeker and David Tanner of Shawnee; great-grandchildren, Mallory and Sarah Goodman, Samuel and Henry Green, Austin, Skyler, Eli and Emberly Reynolds, Madison and Ryan Hedge and Anna Sue Ross; many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made to Heartland Hospice, 2802 N. Kickapoo Avenue, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
The Reynolds family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Prague, Oklahoma.
