GERALD REEDY
1936-2012
Gerald Reedy, a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home north of Chandler.
Gerald was born on January 18, 1936 in Parkland, Oklahoma to Frank and Ruth Stevens Reedy.
He was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn on August 16, 1949.
Gerald married Margie Kathryn Waldman on April 14, 1956 and out of this union came four children. He then married Lois Blake on February 9, 2008.
Gerald was a peanut farmer for over 50 years and a dairyman, but his favorite thing to do was to bale hay.
He helped organize the Lincoln County DHIA {Dairy Herd Improvement Association}; served eleven years on the Lincoln County Fair Board; was a voting delegate for AMPI {Associated Milk Producers Incorporated}; and also served eight years on the Lincoln County FSA Commission.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Reedy; wife Margie of 49 years; and two step-sons, Mike Blake and Eddie Blake.
He is survived by his wife Lois Blake Reedy of the home; four children, Keith Reedy and his wife Vicki of Knoxville, Tennessee; Danah Austin and her husband Benny of Agra, Oklahoma; Darla Morris and her husband Brian of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Kyla Linder and her husband Jason of Agra, Oklahoma; two step-children, Virgil Blake and Brenda Williams; one brother, Frank Reedy; five sisters, Helen Brooks, Betty Fick, Ruthina Hiemer, Diane Wolfe and Sherri Brandenburge; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will be greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, Parkland, Oklahoma with Brothers Richard Wright and Randall Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
