RICHARD ANDERSON RATCLIFF
1923 - 2013


Richard Anderson Ratcliff was born October 3, 1923 near Tryon and died Friday, January 4, 2013, at his home in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was 89 years of age.
The son of John Anderson "J. A." and Edith Fern Cook Ratcliff, he married Florence Irene Bealser on June 19, 1949, in Chandler.
He was a 1942 graduate of Tryon High School and he retired from Oklahoma State University Large Animal Clinic as an animal caretaker.
He was a member of Chandler Friends Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Harvey and John Ratcliff; two sisters, Helen Hunt and Edith Ratcliff and one grandson.
Survivors include his daughters and son in laws, Rachel and Sam Dunn of Richfield, Kansas; Sharon and Ed Godfrey of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Thelma and David Douthitt of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sons and daughter in laws, David and Shawn Ratcliff of Tryon, Oklahoma; and Justin Ratcliff of Moore, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister in law, Lona Ratcliff of South Hutchinson, Kansas; his step-brother, Norman Cardin of Flagstaff, Arizona and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held for Richard Anderson Ratcliff at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Chandler Friends Church with the Rev. Chris Stanfield, the Rev. Bruce Newby and the Rev. Carl Ogle officiating.
Burial will follow at Tryon Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to Brown's Funeral Parlor in Wellston.
