ALFA FAYE PRUITT
1935 - 2012


Alfa Faye McFarlin Pruitt, age 77, of Cushing, Oklahoma, was called home to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on June 12, 2012 at her home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Alfa Faye was born April 7, 1935 in Agra, Oklahoma to Arthur Monroe and Nellie Burger McFarlin where she was raised and educated at Fairview School {east of Agra}.
She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on July 1, 1947.
She married Charles A. Pruitt on September 24, 1951 in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Faye liked to make quilts, cooking and working in the garden as well as fishing.
She attended the Osage Church of the Firstborn. She was a midwife in the church for many years.
Survivors include her three sons, Alford Pruitt and wife, Bertha of Ellington, Missouri; Benny Pruitt and wife, Tammy of Hannibal, Missouri; and Gary Pruitt and wife, Debbie of Agra; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Rains and husband, Leo of Ripley and Ollie Rossiter Quinn of Dexter, Oregon; two brothers, LeeRay McFarlin of Cleveland and Loyal "Bud" McFarlin and wife, Lois of Tryon; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles A. Pruitt; one grandchild, Sarah Marie Pruitt; one great grandchild, Bret Andrew Pruitt; four brothers, James McFarlin, Henry McFarlin, Clarence McFarlin and Arthur McFarlin and four sisters, Thelma "Sis" Wittman, Ervie Murch, Sarah Linder Carmichael and Nina Hood Rodgers.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma, and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
