GEORGE ALBRA "BUCK" PROUGH JR.
1913 - 1985


George Albra “Buck” Prough Jr. went to his heavenly home on December 11, 1985 in an Oklahoma City Hospital at the age of 75 he was born October 02, 1913 in Wellston, Oklahoma. George, the son of George Albra Sr. and Grace Cope Prough, was a lifetime resident of Wellston.
He graduated from Wellston High School in 1931.
Mr. Prough married Vera Gwendoline Wilson in Lincoln County, Oklahoma on June 15, 1932.
He enjoyed painting, carpentry work, fishing and hunting, watching wrestling and Gunsmoke, eating Long Horn cheese, riding his tractor bush hogging, building fences or working the cattle on the farm north of Wellston near Fallis, Okla. on Section 27 in Tohee Township and spending time with his family.
He was employed at Tinker Air Force Base and retired in 1964. Mr. Prough was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellston, Okla., and a 32nd degree Mason at the Masonic Lodge #369.
His parents, wife Vera, sister Leola and a infant brother preceded George in death.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Ronald Ray Prough and wife Donna of Moore, Okla., two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, Wellston, Oklahoma with interment following at the Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Curry-Parks Bros. Funeral Home, Chandler, Oklahoma.
