VIOLA FRIEDA PREWITT
1922 - 2015


Viola Frieda Morris Prewitt was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on January 11, 1922 and departed this life in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Thurday, July 16, 2015 at the age of 93 years.
Viola was the daughter of Grover and Clara Falls Morris.
She was a resident of Stroud most of her life and was a member of the Only Way Baptist Church north of Stroud. She is one of the few remaining full blood Sac and Fox tribal members.
She married Solomon Prewitt in Stroud on March 11, 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sollmon, six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include one son and daughter in law, George and Mary M. Harjo of Stroud, stepsons, Earnest Prewitt of Stroud, Jerry Prewitt of Stroud and Richard S. Prewitt of Cleveland, Oklahoma, one step daughter, Caroyln Collins of Cleveland, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Christopher G. Harjo, Valerie G. Miller, Barry T. Harjo and Malerie V. Lee, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at Parks Brothers Chapel, Stroud, Oklahoma on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Morelan, Rev. Jimmy Anderson and Rev. Emerson Falls officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
