JOHN HERBERT PIRKLE
1929 - 2008


John Herbert Pirkle, age 78, of Tryon, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 in Tryon.
Mr. Pirkle was born on March 3, 1929 in Agra, Oklahoma the son of Eric and Annie Funnell Pirkle.
He married Lorene Cantrell on November 1, 1962 in Tryon. She preceded him in death on February 7, 1984. He later married Lois Porter.
He worked for Lincoln County, retiring after years of service and he loved to shop at garage sales.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lorene; one brother, Raymond C. Goff; and two sisters, Pauline Amrine and Betty Pirkle.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; two brothers, Frank Pirkle and his wife, Muriel of Agra, Oklahoma; and Marion Goff and his wife, Ada Maye of Redding, California; two sisters, Marie Fulwider and her husband, Oran of Midwest City; and Shirley Kirkpatrick and her husband, Jim of Chandler; three stepchildren, Janet Henson and husband Marc of Agra; Rit Poston of Lynchburg, Tennessee; and Sherman Wright of Perkins.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in the Tryon Christian Union Church with the Pastor Ted Gibson officiating.
Interment will be in the Tryon Cemetery under the direction of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma.
