CURTIS D. PHIPPS
1919 - 2012


Curtis D. Phipps, long-time Davenport, Oklahoma resident was born on February 24, 1919, in Osage County, Oklahoma and departed this life on November 16, 2012, in Oklahoma City at the age of 93 years.
Curtis was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Bailey Phipps.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Curtis married Jeannine Thary on March 20, 1946 in Gray, France.
He worked for the City of Davenport for many years and was of the Baptist faith.
His parents, one daughter, four brothers and one granddaughter preceded Curtis in death.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jeannine of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Beulah Phipps of Chandler, Oklahoma and Curtis and Jonita Phipps of Chandler, four daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Childress of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Rita and Jim Wade of Chandler, Sonja and David Ward of Okemah and Judy and Ron Brown of Houston, Texas, seventeen grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Davenport First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Mitchell and Rev. Johnny Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
