RUBY HILMA PARKER
1925 - 2013


Ruby Hilma Simmons Parker died June 11, 2013, at her home in Antlers, Oklahoma at the age of 87.
Ruby was born to Lawrence and Eula Simmons in Paden, Oklahoma on November 22, 1925.
She attended school in Paden for twelve years, graduating from high school in 1943. After graduation from high school, she attended and graduated from business college in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Ruby worked doing secretarial work in several locations until her marriage.
While on vacation in 1945, Ruby met her future husband, Charles Wilburn Parker. They were married in Visalia, California on July 23, 1946. Charles died, November 1, 2011. They were married for 65 years.
Ruby and Charles lived in California for two and a half years before moving to Stroud, Oklahoma in 1949. Charles did construction and oil field work while living in Stroud. He was hired by Tinker Air Force Base and they moved to Del City, Oklahoma in 1965. Charles retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1981. They moved to Antlers, Oklahoma after retirement.
Ruby enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles in her leisure time.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband, Charles.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Parker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and one brother, Lawrence Allen Simmons of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Services will be Friday, June 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Service Chapel in Prague.
Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery with George Battey officiating.
