LOMA JEAN PANEK
1935 - 2015


Loma Jean Wolfe Panek, a longtime Tryon resident, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Cornerstone Long Term Care Center in Shawnee Oklahoma, at the age of 79 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 10, 1935 in Madison, Kansas to the late John Charles Breckenridge Wolfe and Gladys Dickinson Wolfe.
She grew up in Madison, Kansas and graduating from Madison High School.
Loma Jean and her parents later moved to Washington where she met the love of her life Charles Panek. They were married on November 25, 1957 in Kennewick, Washington. They lived in Washington for a time before moving to Minnesota, and then to Silo, Oklahoma until 1977, and then moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
She worked as the "Hub Lady" at OSU for 20 years and retiring in 2000.
Loma Jean was an avid reader. She loved to dance and was a member of the Red Hats Society of Stillwater. She loved being a "G.G.", she lived for her grandkids.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Branson, where he would fish and she would read. She loved cooking and liked taking boxes of candy to as many people as she could; she was a friend to all and loved seeing babies.
Loma Jean is survived by her two sons: David Panek and wife Martha of Tryon; Charles Panek and wife Sherryl of Seaside, California; one daughter: Jackie Shamsollahi of Durant; one sister: Colene Rhodes of Richland, Washington; and one very special nephew: Dail Dean Martin and wife Connie of Madison, Kansas;as well as numerous nieces and nephews; special lifelong friend Mary Jane Baldwin and Jim of Douglass, Kansas. Five grandchildren: Harmony Shipp and husband Jeremy; Jeremy Panek and wife Tamra; Denessa Workman and husband Derek; Laticia Panek, David Panek, five great grandchildren: Lucas Panek, Kalob Shipp, Shamali Workman, Alexis Panek, Hunter Panek, and many other friends, and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, brothers: Jack Wolfe, and Phillip "Babe" Wolfe, one sister: Maxine Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perkins, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at Tryon Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma. Family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Perkins, Oklahoma.
