MARION FRANKLIN MYRICK
1922 - 2009


Marion Franklin Myrick, age 87 of Yukon, formerly of Cushing and Midwest City passed away early Friday morning, July 31, 2009 in Yukon.
Mr. Myrick was born on July 22, 1922 in Ripley, Oklahoma the son of John and Willa Jauach Myrick.
He graduated from Ripley High School, attended college and served in the United States Army during World War II. While he was in the service he was wounded three times and was decorated with a purple heart and a bronze star.
Following his service to his country he moved back to Ripley, then to Cushing, then to Midwest City in 1959.
He was a member of a Baptist church in Midwest City.
He worked in Office Services at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City.
He enjoyed his grandchildren, dancing at the American Legion on Friday and Saturday and meeting his friends at Golden Corral for dinner. He was also a member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennie Lockhart and husband Britt of Yukon, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, LaVeta and Vanita.
His funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing and will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Cushing with the Reverend Joe Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Myrick will be held Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
