JESSIE FAYE MILLS
1935 - 2012


Jessie Faye Phelps Mills, 76, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Perkins, Oklahoma.
Jessie was born on December 26, 1935 in Spring Creek, Oklahoma to Julian Knight and Lou Henry Harpole Phelps.
She graduated from Minco High School, and on November 11, 1955, she married Jimmie Dale Mills in Wellington, Texas. They were married for over 56 years and had four children together.
Jessie was a housewife when the children were young, and when they were all in school, she became the head cook at Coyle Schools. She later accepted a job at Wal-Mart and worked there for eighteen and a half years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Lou Phelps.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Dale Mills; two sons, Joie Dale and Larry Joe Mills; two daughters, Dianna Sue Davis and Shelly Ann Beené; six grandchildren, John Vernon Davis; Sabrina Kay Leggett; H.E. Sharpton III; Jessica Skyy Beené; Aaron Dale Mills; and Chance Joseph Mills; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Skye Sharpton; Gabriel Alexander Sharpton; and Landon Wayne Davis; one brother, Kenneth Phelps and one sister, Nettie Cliffton.
Pallbearers will be John Davis, Aaron Mills, H.E. Sharpton III, Chance Mills, Jeff Leggett and Josh Fulton.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Tim Turner officiating.
Interment will follow at the Iowa Chapel Cemetery in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of services.
