EFFIE IRENE McPHERSON
1931 - 2014


Effie Irene Marrs McPherson was born on November 5, 1931, in Shamrock, Texas, and departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2014, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 82.
Irene, the daughter of Arthur and Iva Marshall Marrs was a resident of Prague.
She married Stephen Earl McPherson on May 17, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She was a member of Prague First Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, traveling/rv’ing, playing the piano and singing. But above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her parents and daughter, Stephanie Sands, sister, Pauline Mills, and brother, Marty Noland, preceded Irene in death.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Stephen Earl McPherson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Karen McPherson of Marlow and Herb and Kristin McPherson of Pratt, Kansas, grandchildren, Jason and Vanessa McPherson, Kyle and Lara McPherson, Jennifer and Clayton Smith, Lesli and Jamie Baca, Zack Widener, Zeke McPherson, Hannah and Cody Barilla and Leah McPherson; twelve great grandchildren; other numerous family and friends.
The McPherson family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Prague First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
