VIOLA BELLE McLIN
1924 - 2015


Viola Belle Wilson McLin was born June 14, 1924 in Wellston to Lawrence Ray Wilson and Netti Belle West.
She passed away February 19, 2015 at the age of 90.
Viola was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Wellston. She was very athletic in her youth competing in basketball, volley ball, swimming, and softball.
She taught for 38 years, 37 of which were in Wellston where she touched the lives of many in the community.
She loved her grandchildren and great-children and taught them songs she learned in church.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Netti; husband, Marvin McLin; siblings, Haskell Wilson, Lawrence Wilson, George Wilson, Robert Wilson, Mary Birdwell, and Vera Prough.
Survivors include her son, John McLin of the home; five grandchildren: Jerimiah, Jack, Stumpy, Crystal Lea and Brandi; seven great-grandchildren: Meriah Jayne, Dixie Lea Belle, Kaylea Ray, Blake, Cheyenne and Gauge Riley; five step-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many former students who will forever cherish the lessons learned under the under the watch of their favorite teacher, Mrs. McLin.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Wellston with interment following at the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
