FLORA BELL CHILDRESS McKINNEY
1912 - 1998


Shawnee area resident Flora Bell Durham Childress McKinney died Monday in Oklahoma City at the age of 86.
She was born March 6, 1912, in Rockcastle, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Rosie Vanzant Durham.
She was a homemaker and worked for Ralph Shirt Factory for many years.
She moved from the Cincinnati, Ohio, area to the Shawnee area in 1991 and was a member of Apostolic Mission Church in Shawnee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Childress, and one son.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd McKinney, of the home; three sons, John Childress, Meeker; Dale Childress, Chandler; Edward Childress, Tecumseh; three daughters, Lucille Huston, Naples, Idaho; Dorothy Maginson, Huntington Beach, California; Rose Hustin, Southgate, California; two brothers, Ollie Durham and Walker Durham, both of Kentucky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sunnyside Cemetery, Meeker, with the Rev. Michael Barksdale officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler but viewing will be at Parks Brothers Chapel in Meeker.
