LUTHER JAMES "JIM" MCGILL

Luther James “Jim” McGill was born on December 13, 1948, in Prague, and departed this life on Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 68.

Jim, the son of Luther Berry and Margaret Melrose (Cook) McGill, was a resident of Prague. He grew up and attended school in Prague, later running the family business McGill’s Grocery for over 40 years. He married Jane Marie Novotny in February 1967. Jim’s hobbies included running the store, working in the greenhouse and hunting. He worked for Canadian Valley for over 10 years as an independent meter-reader.

Jim’s parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Jane McGill of the home; son and daughter-in-law CL McGill and Melinda of Blanchard, OK; grandchildren Dylan McGill of Oklahoma City and Taylor McGill of Blanchard and many other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Deer Creek Baptist Church in Stroud with Pastor Mike Haines officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
