LAWRENCE HENRY McFARLIN OBITUARY

LAWRENCE HENRY McFARLIN
1933 - 1996


Lawrence Henry McFarlin passed away Saturday evening, October 5, 1996, at his residence at Carney, at the age of 63 years.
The son of the late Arthur M. McFarlin and Nellie Burger McFarlin, Lawrence was born on September 4, 1933, in Agra, Oklahoma and was reared and educated in this area.
He was united in marriage to Velma Garrison on February 11, 1952, in California.
The couple returned to Oklahoma in 1975, moving to Stillwater, later to Glencoe and moving to Carney a couple of years ago.
Lawrence had driven for Coca Cola for five years before working for Pepsi, a position he held for over fourteen years prior to his retirement in August 1994.
He was baptized in the Church of the Firstborn in August of 1949 and was a member of the Carney church.
Survivors include his wife of over 44 years, Mrs. Velma McFarlin of the home; five sons, Lawrence E. McFarlin of Glencoe; Darell McFarlin and Gilbert McFarlin, both of Stillwater; Albert McFarlin of Glencoe and Steven McFarlin of Carney; four brothers, Lee Ray McFarlin of Cleveland; Arthur McFarlin of Stillwater; Clarence McFarlin of Agra; and Bud McFarlin of Tryon; six sisters, Ervie Murch of Arkansas; Ollie Quinn of Tulare, California; Sarah Carmichael and Nina Hood, both of Cushing; Fay Pruitt of Agra; and Mary Raines of Ripley, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; three great granddaughters; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James and one sister, Thelma and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were led Wednesday, October 9, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carney Church of the Firstborn with Bros. Lewis Wright and R. C. Earnest officiating.
Serving as casket bearers were Marvin Wilkinson, Quillie Sanders, Greg Roberts, Wayne Corter, Tom Corter and Joe Wilson.
Burial followed at the Parkland Cemetery at Parkland.
