ARTHUR LEE McFARLIN
1937 - 2011


Arthur Lee McFarlin, 73, passed away at his home on March 16, 2011.
Arthur was born on July 26, 1937 to Arthur M. McFarlin and Nellie Ruth Burger McFarlin in Parkland, Oklahoma.
On April 12, 1963 Arthur was married to his wife of 48 years, Marilyn Rose Johnson in Ponca City.
Arthur was known for working hard, he owned McFarlin Plumbing for over 20 years and was the plumbing inspector for the City of Stillwater, as well as running Art and Marilyns Makins Cake Shop.
He was also known for playing hard, being an avid hunter and fisherman. He was even a movie star in a documentary on noodling in Oklahoma. His greatest catch however, was the love of his life Marilyn, their children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Maxwell, four brothers and three sisters.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rose of the home; three sons, Dwayne Burns and wife Renee of Perkins, Bill Burns and wife Connie of Stillwater and Arthur Lee McFarlin Jr. and wife Diane of Stillwater; daughter, Suzie Washington of Stillwater; two brothers, Lee Ray McFarlin of Cleveland and Bud McFarlin of Tryon; four sisters, Ollie Quinn of Oregon, Nina Rogers of Cushing, Faye Pruitt of Cushing and Mary Rains of Ripley; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Palmer Marler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services which will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Perkins.
Brother Scott Heddleston and Brother Roger Lane will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery.
